While I know many of you are faithful followers of IStlk, I want to see how you are doing!
As I move into the fourth noble truth in my studies I think it is important to remember that I often forget how powerful my own mind is!
As I get ready to move on to studying the third noble truth there is an important pause in your life you should think and or meditate on:
Karma Yeshe Rabgye continues to amaze me on how he explains the teachings of Gautama Buddha. In this podcast I listened to in the way home from work tonight he drove home the contemporary outlook of the archaic teachings of Buddhism. Many over the years I have spoken to about Buddhism have had a much more meek, dark and skewed viewpoint of its message. Much like those religious fanatics that I feel often take the scriptures of ancient times and apply them to their whim in current day realities. This 5 minute podcast really shows Rabgye’s perception and teaching methodology!
While I study Buddhism and meditation practices I know I have to be weary of overcomplicating things. I came across this message in my Insight Timer after my daily meditation today and I had to share it!
Just because you’re not doing what other people are doing, that doesn’t mean you’re failing or falling behind. You’re charting your own course and staying true to yourself, even though it would be easier to join the crowd. You’re creating a life you can fall in love with instead of falling in line. You’re finding the courage to do what’s right for you, even though it’s uncertain and scary and hard. Give yourself some credit, because these are all reasons to be proud.Lori Deschene
Here's another throwback from Youtube! FYI InspirationSensations.org is now THIS SITE.
I now have found my Buddhism mentor and teacher I will initially study under.
As I continue to explore more of the Buddhism and Meditation arts I have come across this chant. Without getting all eclectic and weird on you....I've always wondered what the OMMMMMMMMM chanting was all about!
